I now wear a pump and am an athlete doing 1/2 marathons, and sprint triathlons. I am thinking about getting a Medtronic CGMS because of recurrent low blood glucose levels. I would like to ask how the CGMS works with sweating profusely? Any problems? How accurate are the readings and what advantages has anyone seen with wearing the CGMS?

The tape I use from Medtronic works very well with sweat. I hike a lot in the mountains and don't have any problems. My nurse told me she has a patient who waterskies everyday and wears a belt around the sensor also for extra protection.

Dear Drea, could you please give advice to parents of a 20 year old type 1 diabetic, who does not take care of her health? She also has an eating disorder.

My Mom has diabetes, but is managing well through diet and exercise. We also found this website really helpful: http://www.goodhealthrewards.com/ It's great for learning tips about diabetes, but also has a free tracking tool!
